Q: I generated a Microsoft Word(tm) document on a PC, encrypted it using Private File(tm) for Windows, and then decrypted it on a Macintosh. The resulting file has a generic document icon rather than the MS Word icon. Why did this happen? A: If the file encrypted on a PC does not contain the extension (.doc), the item will have a generic document when decrypted on a Macintosh. To fix this, the file should have the extension added before encrypting the file on a PC.
