Q: I just installed Aladdin Desktop Tools(tm) but when I restarted a message said some components did not load at startup because my system version is not supported.

A: This problem is usually solved by updating your Aladdin Desktop Tools package. To determine which update you should obtain, you should first verify what version of Aladdin Desktop Tools you are currently running.

To do this:

1. Open your System Folder.
2. Open the Control Panels folder.
3. Choose 'by Name' from the View menu. This will list the control panels in alphabetical order.
4. Single-click the Desktop Makeover(tm) control panel. If you do not have Desktop Makeover installed, you can single-click Desktop SpeedBoost(tm).
5. Choose 'Get Info' from the File menu.
6. Note the Version. This should be listed immediately above the Comments section.

If you are running version 1.0, you should download two updates: the "1.0 -> 1.0.1 Update" and the "1.0.3 Update."

If you are running version 1.0.1 or 1.0.2, you only need to download the "1.0.3 Update."
